Join Wyoming Humanities and Meeteetse Museums on July 8th at 3:50 at the Meeteetse School for Sharing the Spirit of America. This event features a public reading of the Declaration of Independence and a screening of the brand-new documentary Before Wyoming: The West in 1776.
3:50pm Welcome
4:00 PM Declaration of Independence reading, to coincide with Hawai’i America250 Commission’s invitation to read the Declaration with all 50 states, 5 territories, D.C., and the Minor Outlying Islands “together” at the same time. Commemorative copies of the Declaration of Independence will be available to attendees.
4:15pm Screening of Before Wyoming: The West in 1776
4:45pm Refreshments and discussion.
This program is part of By the People: Conversations Beyond 250, a series of community-driven programs created by humanities councils in collaboration with local partners. The initiative was developed by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
