The Natchitoches-NSU Folk Festival features three stages of music, the Louisiana State Fiddle Championship, Kidfest, exhibits, narrative sessions, and folk crafts be exhibited by artists working on site. The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities partnered with the festival to provide three special informances: the Winnsboro Easter Rock Ensemble performing its traditional Easter Rock ritual, Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue, and traditional music and dance with Native Nations Intertribal.
This program is part of By the People: Conversations Beyond 250, a series of community-driven programs created by humanities councils in collaboration with local partners. The initiative was developed by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
