On June 18, Speaking of Revolution from Humanities New York continues at The Rockwell Museum in Corning. Working with Seneca Nation culture bearer Hayden Haynes, participants will examine Cannupa Hanska Luger’s Harm alongside Albert Bierstadt’s Mount Whitney. The conversation explores how art shapes public memory and asks what revolution can mean when familiar stories about America are viewed from Indigenous perspectives
This program is part of By the People: Conversations Beyond 250, a series of community-driven programs created by humanities councils in collaboration with local partners. The initiative was developed by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
