Featuring all-day exhibits and shows at High Cotton Music Hall, Hart County Community Theatre, Hartwell Art Center, and MORE! Performers include Mojo on Max and the Hot Dam Blues Band as well as storytellers and artists from local Cherokee historians and demonstrations from UGA on quilting in early America.
Presented in partnership with Discover Hartwell, Hartwell Main Street, Hartwell Downtown Development Authority, Georgia Humanities, and the Smithsonian Institution’s “Voices and Votes: Democracy in America” exhibition.
This program is part of By the People: Conversations Beyond 250, a series of community-driven programs created by humanities councils in collaboration with local partners. The initiative was developed by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
