#HumCitizen: What Comes to Light

The Alabama Humanities Foundation (AHF) will host public forums/discussions in three different locations in 2018. Each forum will be geared toward young people and will celebrate and explore journalists’ work uncovering stories in 20th and 21st century Alabama. The public forums will bring together scholars, local reporters, and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists to offer both historic and current perspectives on the role the news media plays in small towns.

Major partnership include with the Alabama Press Association, the Alabama Scholastic Press Association, and the David Mathews Center for Civic Life. Community partnerships include with Coastal Alabama Community College; “The Rankin Files” talk show on 95.5 FM WJDB; Northeast Alabama Community College; Dekalb County Library; Talladega College, Central Alabama Community College, Alabama Institute for Deaf & Blind, and the Armstrong-Osborn Public Library.
