A writing competition where students each write a personal letter to an author, poet or playwright, living or dead, from any genre, explaining how their ways of thinking about the world or themselves have changed as a result of reading the author’s work. Each year, Colorado Humanities & Center for the Book, in affiliation with the Library of Congress, implements Letters About Literature in Colorado. Colorado Humanities receives Letters About Literature entries from the national office, administers the Colorado judging, and coordinates our Student Literary Awards for the winners in the spring.
