The Director of Grants will lead the complete grant cycle for all LEH Public Programs Division grant streams from development and implementation to close out and reporting. The Director will oversee various public programs tied to LEH grantmaking and facilitate and maintain programmatic partnerships across Louisiana. The Director will work closely with the VP of Public Programs to design and implement initiatives that increase all Louisiana residents access to quality humanities programming and will monitor geographic distribution of grantmaking to ensure equitable access to LEH programs. The Director of Grants is broadly responsible for cultivating relationships and partnerships that ensure program goals and objectives are achieved. This person will directly supervise the Grants Manager.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a seasoned grants professional who is passionate about the humanities and their role in helping humans make sense of their world. They will be highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated. They will enjoy taking initiative and thinking through all steps of the grantmaking process from conception through reporting. They will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to provide excellent service and outreach to prospective and existing partner organizations. Willingness and ability to give public presentations and travel frequently is essential. Flexibility in response to changing program and grantmaking needs is key.
