Guide to Navigating Humanities on the Hill

ANNOUNCEMENT:
Jon Parrish Peede, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, to Speak at Congressional Reception
Reception will be held at the Rayburn Office Building, Foyer on Wednesday, March 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Please remember to invite your members of Congress to join us at our congressional reception on Wednesday, March 6, and offer remarks. This is a great opportunity to welcome new members of Congress and to thank members who have been supportive of the humanities. Jon Peede will be our featured speaker, and John Davis, provost of the Smithsonian, will recognize the 25-year council/SITES partnership serving thousands of rural communities across America.

EVENT RESOURCES:
The following event resources are also available to members participating in Humanities on the Hill:
- Humanities on the Hill Main Event Page, featuring links to advocacy resources, hotel information, agendas, registration, and information on the Executive Directors’ Retreat
- Congressional Reception Invitation. Please distribute this to your congressional members and staff and let them know there will be opportunities for Hill members to share remarks and address the room. A printed invite will also be available at the registration desk before the March 5 Briefing
- Event Agenda , which lists times, locations and brief descriptions of the week’s events
- Briefing Agenda, which highlights what will be covered during this first official event of the week including an opportunity to hear perspectives from two different Hill staffers
- Book the HoH Photographer request form (TODAY IS THE DEADLINE)
- Hotel Information, including the address of the event hotel, Hotel Palomar
EVENT APP:
Wish you had all this in an app? We’ve got you covered! Check your email for your invitation to download the Humanities on the Hill app and access all these materials and more, including maps of Capitol Hill and the DC Metro system, local dining options, and DCA flight status reports. You can also set up your profile and connect directly with others through the app and view what people are seeing and experiencing during the week via the social wall. When posting to social media, please use #HumHill19 to connect your posts with all attendees!
