California Council for the Humanities: HOW I SEE IT: YOUTH DIGITAL FILMMAKERS

A two-year pilot program launched in 2007, YDF selected eight projects through a statewide competitive process. These youth media production projects were supported by grants of $30,000 each, convenings, site visits, technical assistance, humanities and media experts, peer learning, online information sharing, publicity support, and distribution tools and opportunities in a program of deep experiential learning.

CCH partnered with media organizations ZeroDivide and the Bay Area Video Coalition to build new capacity within the grantee organizations and youth participants to conduct substantive research on project themes, and to support the creation of ambitious media products and their broad distribution.
