PROGRAM: Young Writers’ Workshop

A workshop geared towards students in grade 8-12 who have a sincere interest in creative writing. These workshops provide students an opportunity to explore their interest in creative writing and to devote time to the development of their writing skills with accomplished authors in a supportive environment. Both workshops are 7-day residential programs and take place on a college campus in the summer.Humanities Tennessee offers two writers’ workshop opportunities for young people:

Appalachian Young Writers’ Workshop: open to high school students and was held June 18-24, 2017 at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate.

Tennessee Young Writers’ Workshopopen to rising 8th-12th graders and was held July 9-15, 2017 at Cumberland University in Lebanon.
