In partnership with HPR’s Atherton Performing Arts Studio, the Honolulu Museum of Art and Hawai’i Public Radio, the Hawai’i Council for the Humanities presents Think Spot Sessions: Surfing, a dynamic audience-driven roundtable exploring how one of the world’s oldest sports has influenced mainstream culture in Hawai’i and around the world.

Featured guest speakers included Tom Pohaku Stone, surfing historian; Mindy Pennybacker, In the Lineup columnist and staff writing at Honolulu Star-Advertiser; and Karin Amimoto Ingersoll, author of Waves of Knowing: A Seascape Epistemology.

The event took place July 19, 2016 and the HPR Atherton Studio.
