To commemorate 50 years since the escalation of US involvement in the Vietnam War, the Kansas Humanities Council is launching a multi-dimensional, statewide oral history project in partnership with the Library of Congress. Through oral histories and memoirs, KHC will collect the stories of Kansans as they share their experiences, both home and abroad. At the end of the project, participating organizations will have the opportunity to submit their collected stories from veterans to the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project in Washington, DC. Partner organizations selected for the Kansas Stories of Vietnam War project will receive up to $1,500 to collect oral histories, invite local veterans to participate in workshops, host community conversations, and much more.
