PROGRAM: Hometown Teams

The Smithsonian is coming to town! Museum on Main Street (MoMS) is a partnership of the Smithsonian Institution and state humanities councils nationwide. The program brings high-quality traveling exhibits to small towns across the state. Florida Humanities Council is accepting applications to host Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America, which will traverse the state in 2018, until August 4, 2017.

Participating MoMS sites receive:

  • A free-standing traveling Smithsonian exhibit
  • $5,000 for programming (i.e. – local exhibits, lectures, panel discussions, etc.)
  • A comprehensive Smithsonian press kit
  • Institutional capacity-building opportunities
  • And much more!
