OVERVIEW: Nevada Pulitzer Prizes Centennial Campfires Activities

Nevada Humanities produced “Campfire Gatherings: A Year of Pulitzer Prize Explorations in Nevada” to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prizes. Throughout this project, Nevada Humanities produced 25 events featuring Pulitzer honorees and/or their works, including 16 umbrella programs and their outreach components: 22 discussion programs, one exhibition curated specifically for the celebration, a radio program, and one theatrical reading for high school students. In total, Nevada Humanities brought 13 Pulitzer Prize-recognized authors, journalists, and a photojournalist to Nevada and a total of 2,250 people attended the 24 events and programs spread across Nevada. The radio program was aired three times and reached an estimate listening audience of 50,000 across northern and northeastern Nevada.
