Fast Track Literary Grants are intended to support new or existing public literary programs such as (but not limited to) writers series, festivals, conferences, workshops, or writer’s residencies at schools. Awards are $3,000 or less.
Past Awarded Grants:
Clemson University Literary Festival
Clemson University presented their ninth annual Clemson University Literary Festival, a “town and gown” event that will feature 10 nationally-known writers, including headliner Charles Simic. The event took place April 6 – 8, 2016 and was free and open to the public.
Newberry County’s Big Read
The Newberry County Literacy Council presented a county-wide “Big Read” program featuring Ron Rash’s book The World Made Straight that took place in January and February 2016. A wide variety of events were held, including discussion forums, film screenings, scholar talks, student essay and art contests, and more.
5th Annual Upcountry Literary Festival
The University of South Carolina-Union presented their 5th Annual Upcountry Literary Festival, on March 18 – 19, 2016. They event featured over 20 authors from a variety of genres in readings, workshops, panel discussions, and performances.
