Humanities Montana Opportunity Grants are intended to help organization fund humanities-centered programs. Grants of up to $1,000 are awarded to organizations on a competitive basis. Supported programs include:

  • Book festivals
  • Conferences
  • Exhibits
  • Lectures
  • Media projects
  • Museum assistance
  • Oral histories
  • Panel discussions
  • Public debates
  • Reading and discussion programs
  • Workshops

Humanities Montana encourages organizations to apply for an Opportunity Grant when their proposed program will stimulate statewide dialogue on humanities topics, foster discussion between humanities scholars and the public, strengthen cooperative relationships among communities and cultural organizations, and enrich civic discourse among the state’s diverse cultures and across its geographical distances.

Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to organizations on a competitive basis. Grant applications may be submitted at any time, but Humanities Montana must receive an application at least four weeks prior to the start date of the proposed program.
