Coming in 2017, the Maine Humanities Council will offer a grant opportunity for Civil Rights Team Project teams.
The Civil Rights Team Project is a program based in the Attorney General of Maine’s office and is the only program of its kind nationwide. Its mission is to increase the safety of elementary, middle, and high school students by reducing bias-motivated behaviors and harassment in schools.
As part of the council’s partnership with the Civil Rights Team Project, the council helps plan content for the fall student and advisor trainings and will offer a reading and discussion group for adult advisors using Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People by Mahzarin R. Banaji and Anthony Greenwald.
More information about the grants will be posted, once available.
