Since its creation in 1972, Kentucky Humanities, with the assistance of the National Endowment for the Humanities and private contributions, has supported public programs in the humanities throughout the Commonwealth. Organizations can apply to Kentucky Humanities for Minigrants of up to $1,500 to assist in funding public humanities programs such as conferences, lectures, radio and video productions, exhibits, teacher training and development of curricular materials, interpretive programs for festivals, book discussions, and planning for future projects.

Organizations must submit both a preliminary and final grant application to receive funding. Final applications must be postmarked by the first of the month and at least eight weeks prior to the proposed program (i.e., for a December 15th event, the final proposal would be due by October 1st).
