GRANT: Challenge Grants

Oklahoma Humanities grants encourage cultural programming on the local level across the state. Eligible projects must support the council’s mission to strengthen communities by helping Oklahomans learn about the human experience, understand new perspectives, and participate knowledgeably in civic life.

To fulfill the mission of Oklahoma Humanities, funded projects should fall under at least one of the following grant categories.
1. The Human Experience: These projects explore culture and history through time and place.
2. We the People: These projects explore cultural, ethnic, racial, or religious diversity.
3. The Public Square: These projects explore current events, divergent opinions, public policy, civics, or justice.

Possible grant programs are: discussion programs, lectures, panel discussions, websites, audio or video productions, and exhibitions. Challenge grants are award up to $15,000 of matching funds and have a spring deadline, April 1st, and a fall deadline, September 1st.
