Governor’s Award

Presented by:
Alaska Humanities Forum

The Governor’s Awards for the Arts and Humanities is an annual partnership between the Alaska Humanities Forum, the Alaska State Council on the Arts, the Alaska Arts and Culture Foundation, and the Officer of the Governor to recognize and honor noteworthy contributions to the arts and humanities in Alaska.

Each year, an awards ceremony is held to recognize awardees across six categories including Individual Artist, Distinguished Service to the Humanities, Alaska Studies Educator, Arts Educator, Arts Education, Alaska Native Arts, and Business Leadership in the Arts. This event includes performances – dance, film, song, storytelling and poetry – by Alaskan artists.
