The Missouri Humanities Council serves communities, life-long learners, local museums & libraries. The humanities consist of subject matter spanning literature, philosophy, religion, history, and the list continues. At MHC, we believe that the humanities are a valuable part of the human experience no matter one’s age, education, or life experience.

Calling all outstanding public humanities programs! The Federation is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Schwartz Prize. Submission deadline is August 17, 2016.
State humanities councils, FSHC, and other humanities organizations come together to support National History Day – a program that brings students together, in a friendly history competition, from around the world.
Eight state humanities councils received a total of more than $1.4 million from NEH’s Humanities in the Public Square to conduct programs across the nation.
More than 20 councils are hosting 68 Pulitzer Prize Centennial Campfires events through more than 35 programs around the country.
